You need to be able to swim 200 yards of the pool without the use of any equipment. You may use any stroke, any combination of strokes and you do not have a time limit. You also need to be able to tread/float for 10 minutes. Emphasis for the swim test is placed on comfort in the water.
You have to be at least 5 years old for the SASY program, 8 years old for an introduction to scuba and 10 years old for the beginner open water course.
No, you do not have to have a buddy to take any of the courses we offer. However, you do need to have a buddy when diving on your own.
Scuba diving in this area is easier than you think. We have many local lakes, quarries and of course the Great Lakes. For those warm weather travelers, we have organized group trips to various warm locations.
A typical beginner course can be completed in as little as two weekends. This condensed course does require some pre-studying.
No, you don't have to be in great physical condition. However, you should consult with your physician if you have anything that may preclude you from diving. We will ask you to fill out a standardized medical questionnaire at the beginning of the course.
